Keeping the Bayshore workers fed is no small task. Chef Cliff is hard at work over a hot grill.

Bill Doerge makes a final safety inspection on the Bayshore Control Tower before he opens it up to the Bayshore workers.

Of course running the Bayshore At Pocono is only half the fun. Actually "running in the event" is the other half. Here Kevin Johnson in his #65 black Corvair awaits the signal to GO from pit out stewart Warren Edwards.

Aside from a drivers seat, Bill Doerge enjoys the best seat in the house atop the Bayshore Control Tower.

After all the cooking is done and all the Bayshore workers have been fed, Chef Cliff can now grab a little rest.

One of the functions that gets over looked in an event like this is the amount of preparation work that takes place. All year long the Bayshore Pocono Group has been holding monthly meetings to ensure a smooth operation come track day.

Upon arriving at the track all the Bayshore people attend to there own job functions. And the most important job of course is the Coffee & Donut Table is set up. Here Judy Doerge has already set up the coffee & donut table and awaits the first cup of fresh brewed morning coffee.
(editors note: This is the most important track function of the entire event, as far as I am concerned. - Roy)

The Registration Table with all the assorted paperwork, is always busy first thing in the morning. In addition to sorting the forms and arrange for some last minute entries to classify, there is also time for that question, "what do I do now?" from drivers and workers.

The Tech Line workers start running from the minute drivers start arriving. As the tech line quickly forms up, the inspectors work at a fast pace checking the cars for loose objects, proper forms, up to date equipment, etc., etc.

With Chef Cliff at the grill Bayshore workers will not go hungry because they forgot to eat. Cliff brings the meals to the workers. I can tell you first hand how great that is. Workers get wrapped up in the running of the event and do forget to make the time to eat. It sure is nice to have someone pass you a hambuger plater and a cold drink and tell you "take a break it's time to eat".

Bayshore even brings their own tower to the event. With the loss of the privately owned tower at Pocono, due to a aging roof, Bayshore saw the need to have their own tower. Here the workers put the finishing touches on the Official Bayshore Command Center, that will afford them an excellant view of the overall track operations. In the fore ground you can see Chef Cliff is already set up for the prelunch crowd.

When all is ready, the track is open. After all the paperwork is complete, all the vehicles have been inspected, after the drivers have been given the "Rules of the Road" and the corner workers and EMT's are in place, only then can the track be open for the lapping sessions. Here Kevin Johnson, Bill Doerge and third unidentified worker, keep a careful eye on track operations from the lofty control tower.

The track is open to the drivers. Here a group of cars goes through Turn 1 as they enter the tri-oval in the NASCAR Turn 3. There is always a wide varity of vehicles and a wide level of driver experience. In this group alone we have a sportscar, sedan and a "speciality" vehicle.

Bayshore prides themselves on running a low pressure fun event with safety in mind at all times. This event has been a sell out for the last 5 years in a row! Our next event will take place on September 3, 2005. Register early, before August 1st and recieve a discount rate and ensure yourself a place in the "Drive In '05" Bayshore At Pocono.
